Why Live In Easley SC - A Great Place to Call Home

Easley SC  harbors just under 20,000 residents including commuters to the nearby towns of Anderson and Greenville. With nearby lakes and mountains, Easley has its share of natural beauty including the recently completed Doodle Trail –a 7.5-mile multi-use trail for bikers, walkers, runners and rollerbladers running between Easley and Pickens, SC. Easley is the largest city in Pickens County with a small part of the city falling in Anderson County. There is still a railroad running through the heart of the town and trains can be seen coming through on a daily basis.

In the 1960s, a whole new world of recreational opportunities was created in the area when the US Army Corps of Engineers formed three large, lakes using dams ( Hartwell, Keowee, and Jocassee). Nearby Lake Hartwell was created and the area has been a draw for tourists and lake seekers who wish to live there ever since.  In the early 1970s, Duke Power (now Duke Energy) built a nuclear power plant in neighboring Oconee County that has been providing power for the Easley and surrounding areas since 1973.

Pickens County has over 150 manufacturing plants - typical of the area. A world-famous kayak manufacturer -Confluence Watersports -had its origin in Easley. They have recently built a bigger facility and moved to neighboring Greenville, SC.  For over 12 years now, Easley has played host to the Big League World Series which attracts visitors from around the globe.

Each year, Easley has their "Spring Fling", an event hosted by the Easley Downtown Business Association. This exciting event is an opportunity for folks to see local arts and crafts, taste local foods, and hear good local music and entertainment on the Market Square stage.

There is a wide variety of Easley SC homes for sale to choose from including entry level, luxury, golf course homes, gated community homes, and homes on large lots or acreage. With its proximity just west of the fast growing larger city of Greenville, the Easley real estate market is still very affordable with the average existing home valued under $150,000.
